How is a Facelift Performed?

There are many different ways to perform a facelift procedure, so it is best to ask your physician about their specific technique.  Typically the surgeon will start by separating the skin from the underlying layers of muscle and fat.  Once the excess fat is removed, the surgeon will usually start tightening the facial muscles and membranes.  After the skin is pulled back and is tightened, excess skin is cut away.
